Systems Integration & Interoperability

What We Do

At Answer Digital, integration is at the heart of what we do - connecting complex systems so organisations can actually get value from their data, instead of leaving it scattered and siloed. Whether it's patient records, clinical systems, or the dozens of other platforms hospitals and trusts rely on, we know these systems often don't talk to each other, and that's exactly the problem we solve.

We build integration solutions that make sure data moves accurately and reliably between systems, so our clients can trust what they're working with and use it properly. This matters even more in heavily regulated industries, where getting data exchange right isn't just nice to have - it's essential for delivering large-scale digital programmes and actually seeing results.

Our Work

We are proud to have played a key role in numerous complex projects of all sizes across the NHS, demonstrating our deep expertise in data connectivity. Our work included supporting clients such as:

• Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) with the implementation of their Hive EPR (powered by Epic) by developing and deploying several crucial new interfaces.
• Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust, where we provided architectural design services for the new Metrocentre CDC and built a sophisticated patient matching component utilising PDS FHIR API functionality within their InterSystems IRIS engine.
• NENC ICB and Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust to design the architecture for a new Global Order Comms solution and build the necessary interfaces. We also worked specifically with NENC ICB to build interfaces for their Referral and Booking Management (RBM) process. Both projects relied on Health Connect Cloud for integration, incorporating source control during development.
• Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust by deploying our open-source e-Referral Document Integration, which directly reduces manual tasks and eases the administrative burden on clinicians.

These projects represent just a few examples of our work; we have further extensive experience on other implementations across the health sector.
